This deer was taken in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Unfortunately the deer won't be able to go into the LA record books, despite a 226 score on the Boone & Crockett scale. The buck was tagged and had apparently gotten out of an adjoining ranch while a repaircrew was fixing a fence. Louisiana law holds that these trophies may be taken if they ever jump the fence or escape from the property where they're tagged.
