New South Radio EEO Report Schedule D

For the following stations: WIIN-AM, WYOY-FM, WJKK-FM, WUSJ-FM, W226BS AND WJXN-FM

New South Radio, Inc. Outreach Programs:
New South Radio, Inc. worked closely with Mississippi College’s Communications Department to find a person for their internship program.
On October 15, 2014 Katrina Chen was interviewed and chosen as the person for the internship.
She worked thirty hours in November and December of 2014 which fulfilled the internship requirements. She also received credit from Mississippi College.
She experienced several different aspects of the broadcasting business including sales, public appearances, production, and promotions. Some of the specific jobs she helped with were: remote broadcasts, on air sponsorships, preparing and planning for an event, emceeing events with an announcer, creatively producing commercials for nonprofits and for profit customers, logging barter spots, keeping up with barter affidavits, producing promotional liners for “The Showgram with Nate and Murphy” and physical packing and insuring all equipment was ready.
New South Radio, Inc. worked closely with Mississippi College’s Communications Department to find the right person for their scholarship program.  The qualifications include resume, GPA, and the students expressed interest in Broadcasting.
Four candidates were recommended by Mississippi College’s Communications Department. Those candidates were more interested in television than radio.
Michaela Parker was submitted by her professor, Reid Vance. Upon review by New South Radio, Inc., she met and exceeded the qualifications.
Michaela was a junior at Mississippi College.  She also attended French Camp Academy for High School and worked at their radio station. She had a 3.5 GPA. She volunteers at FCA and is also active in the Baptist Student Union at Mississippi College.
